uBlock ist nicht uBlock Origin – Die offizielle Seite und Downloads

uBlock Origin werden sicherlich viele in ihrem Browser als Content-Blocker einsetzen. Raymond Hill der Ersteller sieht es ja nicht als AdBlocker. Egal ob im Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera oder auch im Microsoft Edge verrichtet er gute Arbeit. Aber wer das Projekt unterstützen will, kann schnell die Seite verwechseln.

Denn aus Bequemlichkeit nennt man die Erweiterung nur uBlock, sucht in Google danach und landet auf ublock.org. Dies ist aber nur ein Fork von Chris Aljoudi und hat nichts mit dem originalen „Origin“ zu tun, wie Martin von ghacks heute drauf hinweist. Daher nehme ich mal zum Anlass auch darauf hinzuweisen.

Raymond Hill selber schreibt auf Github: The donations sought by the individual behind ublock.org („to keeps uBlock development possible“, a misrepresentation) are not benefiting any of those who contributed most to create uBlock Origin (developers, translators, and all those who put efforts in opening detailed issues).
